The AMA Kraków Open House clearly demonstrated the direction in which film education is heading today.

The large turnout, high level of engagement, many specific questions, and packed rooms throughout the day confirmed that the topic of modern image production is of interest not only to those just starting out, but also to those who are already working in film, video, post-production, and new technologies.

We started the day at the new, modern AMA Kraków facility, where we presented the school’s new curriculum. The curriculum is based on what’s actually happening in the industry today: image processing, post-production, VFX, AI, visual storytelling, and the new production pipeline.

One of the highlights was the cinematography workshop featuring a green screen and a car, held in a specially built studio in an underground parking garage. There was a camera, lighting, a set, special effects, atmosphere, and a very concrete workflow. At times, the set had a vibe familiar from American action movies—but the most important thing was that participants could see how such a film is created from a production perspective.

At the same time, Canon and Godox held equipment workshops where participants could see the tools used in cinematography and lighting. These weren’t just catalog-style presentations, but practical demonstrations showing how equipment influences decisions, the final image, and workflow on set.

In the post-production segment, participants took part in classes on image processing, workflow, and the use of AI. This is a particularly important area for AMA Kraków, as today’s filmmakers are increasingly working not just with the camera, but with the entire process: from the set, through editing, color grading, and VFX, all the way to generative tools.

The day culminated with a packed Cinema City theater and a case study workshop on special effects for the production “Heweliusz.” It was led by Krzysztof Hrycak, CEO of the Kraków-based post-production studio No Label.

It was one of those moments where education intersects directly with industry practice. Participants were able to see how VFX is approached in a large-scale production, how visual decisions are made, and what role new technologies and AI are beginning to play in this process.

The discussion following the workshop and the number of questions from the audience showed that this is not a topic of the future, detached from reality. It is a reality that is already changing the way we make films.

It is a great honor for AMA Film Academy to be able to expand our collaboration with No Label Studio. We believe that combining hands-on education, the expertise of professional studios, and the real needs of the industry is the best way to train future cinematographers today.
