Lecturer Profile

A popular Polish film actress. She is best known for her roles in in Jan Jakub Kolski’s original films. Without its nostalgic tranquility, it would be difficult to imagine some of the characters from so-called “Jańcioland”—the cinematic world created by the director early in his career. However, she had already become known to a wider audience thanks to Roman Załuski’s popular comedies.

A graduate of the Acting Department at the PWSFTviT in Łódź (1984). In the 1980s, she performed at the Adam Mickiewicz Theater in Częstochowa, the Second Wrocław Studio, and the Contemporary Theater in Wrocław. She made her big-screen debut in Roman Załuski’s comedy-drama *Kogel-mogel* (1988). The most significant part of her artistic legacy consists of the roles she created in the films of Jan Jakub Kolski. Particularly noteworthy are her roles in the television film *Pograbek* (1992), where she played Kuśtyczka, the wife of the title character, and as the protagonist’s wife in the feature film *Jańciu Wodnik* ( 1993). She also collaborated with Andrzej Wajda (the television film *Wyrok na Franciszka Kłosa*, 2000 ). She frequently appears in popular television series.
Her portrayal of Grażynka Andryszkówna in Jan Jakub Kolski’s *Cudowne miejsce* (1994) earned her the award for Best Actress at the Gdynia Feature Film Festival, and her role as Natasza in Jan Jakub Kolski’s *Jasminum* (2006) by Jan Jakub Kolski was honored with the Golden Horseshoe at the “Wakacyjne Kadry” Film Festival in Cieszyn, and her title role in *Afonia and the Bees*(2009) by the same director was recognized by the jury of the Moscow International Film Forum, which awarded her the Golden Knight statuette (2010).
