Lecturer Profile
Maciej Gil – film historian, film culture promoter and researcher, journalist and editor, speaker, and film educator. Since 2003, he has been involved with the film discussion club movement; from 2006 to 2012, he served as head of the Polish Federation of Film Discussion Clubs. From 2005 to 2015, he served as program director of the Kino na Granicy Film Festival and has been a co-founder and program consultant for numerous other film events in Poland and abroad.
Creator of the Kinobus and Krakow Film Walks projects. He is involved on a daily basis with the Krakow-based Cyrk Edison Foundation for the Promotion of Film Culture, which operates the Agrafka and Kika cinemas, as well as the Rozpięci Film Discussion Club. He has received the Polish Film Institute Award three times.
