Mikołaj Kamler

Lecturer Profile

Illustrator, animator. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he studied illustration in Prof. Janusz Stanny’s studio. He collaborates with numerous publishers, primarily on books and magazines for children and young adults. He also works in animation, focusing mainly on creating short animated book trailers and other multimedia projects. In such projects, he is often responsible for the screenplay, animation (including illustrations by other artists), music, and sound for the animations.

Michał Kamler’s major projects include animations for documentary films and series: “
—an animated opening sequence and scenes for a series about the Animated Film Studio, including editing and post-production of the material
—the animated film “Kukliński—How a Polish Officer Saved the World”—a project commissioned by the National Center for Culture. For this project, he wrote the screenplay, created the animation, and edited the film; he adapted illustrations from Wojciech Sobolewski’s book into a moving narrative lasting approximately 30 minutes, and collaborated musically with Jerzy Milian.

She also works on special projects:
— animations for books nominated in the Astrid Lindgren Literary Contest, organized by the “All of Poland Reads to Children” Foundation
– animations created to mark various cultural or historical events, such as commissions from the National Center for Culture for the 1050th anniversary of Poland’s baptism—short videos showcasing the impact of this event on art and culture.
