Comprehensive Filmmaking Education at AMA Film Academy
From day one, students at AMA Film Academy are immersed in the world of filmmaking, stepping behind the camera to tackle the visual, dramatic, and technical challenges faced by directors. They gain hands-on experience by writing, producing, directing, and editing their own films. Additionally, students collaborate on projects in various crew roles, including director of photography, assistant cameraperson, and gaffer/grip, ensuring extensive on-set experience for everyone involved. Our intensive, hands-on instruction is designed to empower students to tell stories artfully, cinematically, and originally.
Practical and Theoretical Foundations
While our education is primarily practical, the professional skills of our graduates are underpinned by a solid theoretical foundation. The AMA Filmmaking program provides essential skills for creating audiovisual content for film and television. Students learn to work with industry-standard equipment and software, mirroring the tools used in the entertainment industry, making them career-ready from the start.
Expert Instruction
Our faculty comprises active industry professionals, including TV producers, directors, cinematographers, scriptwriters, sound engineers, editors, and specialists in special effects and post-production, as well as film and television producers.
Real-World Experience and Unique Opportunities
At AMA Film Academy, we believe in learning by doing. Our project-based curriculum combines classroom study with practical filmmaking experience using professional equipment. As part of the AMA Film Academy, students have the opportunity to participate in additional programs such as professional film set visits, production participation, special film screenings, workshops, master classes, and guest lectures.
Career-Ready Training
Developing employable skills in the film industry is akin to any other vocational trade. With dedication and the right training, anyone can learn these skills. Many transferable skills from various backgrounds, such as logistics, tactical planning, teamwork, time management, and technical expertise, are highly valuable in the film industry. Even entry-level film industry jobs often pay significantly higher than traditional specialty trades, providing substantial opportunities for career growth.
Hands-On Learning
Students engage with real-world challenges in film imagery, dramaturgy, and technology from the very beginning. They not only produce their own graduation films but also support their peers in roles like production manager, director, cinematographer, and sound engineer.
Diploma at AMA Filmmaking
To earn their diploma, students must complete and present a graduation film at an open exam and pass a theoretical examination. Graduates who meet these requirements receive the AMA Film Academy Diploma.

AMA Film Academy provides access to a well-equipped rental service for film, lighting, sound, and grip equipment, advanced editing stations, and a professional film studio. This ensures that our students have the resources they need to succeed in the competitive field of filmmaking.
